When she arrived in Israel, Hanna first lived at Kibbutz Ramat David, where she came straight from the ship. She worked collecting eggs in a chicken coop until the many snakes wandering around there deterred her. Afterwards, she moved to picking apples in an orchard.
On August 30, 1959, Hanna and Meir were married in a Jewish wedding ceremony in Nahalal. They arrived at the wedding by cart and donkey from Ramat David, where they were living at the time.
In October 1959, Hanna and her husband Meir moved to live in Kibbutz Hanita.
